Tiger Electronic games has acquired electronic scrabbles maker ElectronicScrabbleGames for a reported Rs. 1,000 crore.
The deal is expected to close in March.
The deal is valued at Rs. 2,000-2,500 crore.
ElectronicScribbles will focus on digital games for smartphones and tablets.
The acquisition is expected boost Tiger’s mobile-first strategy as it looks to gain traction in the lucrative smartphone market.
Tiger will retain its 20% stake in the business and its 20%, 20% and 30% ownership in ElectronicScribe, which will continue to focus on mobile games.
Electronic Scribe will also retain its existing 25% stake.
Tiger said in a statement that the deal will “make ElectronicScabbleGames a truly global leader in electronic scrabs”.
ElectronicScabs is also working with Tiger on new products.
