A new study shows that gamers are more likely to have a PS4 than a Wii, Xbox One, or any other console in the US.
The survey, conducted by a Japanese company called TES Labs, surveyed more than 2,000 gamers over the course of two weeks, with the results published Wednesday.
Overall, the survey found that gamers have the most commonly used gaming platforms in the country, with nearly two-thirds of respondents saying they use a console at least once a month.
However, they were more likely than console users to say they played games online or online with friends.
The PS4 and Xbox One also ranked among the top-selling consoles in the survey, with more than a quarter of respondents choosing the PS4 over the Xbox One and more than one-third picking the Xbox 360 over the PS3.
TES Lab says that gamers in general prefer to play games on their home consoles.
However the findings could have implications for the next generation of consoles that are coming out in the near future.
The consoles will likely have new controllers that will be easier to use, the company says.
Tes Lab says it wants to continue to bring gaming into the homes of people who can’t afford the high prices that consoles are currently selling.
The company hopes to release the next-generation consoles in 2020.
